The inaugural Midwest Soul VegFest of 2019 faced adversities with a a huge thunderstorm the night before, but it triumphed with a strong turnout of attendees, even drawing all day coverage from Fox 4 News. Our Mayor Quintin Lucas and Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver, both shared their amazing health journey and the importance of a healthier lifestyle.
What's truly significant is the representation of Kansas city communities, comprising over 70% of attendees and 30% surrounding areas, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in the sustainable and healthy lifestyle movement.
This event coincided with the rising popularity of plant- based lifestyle, reflecting a broader cultural shift towards plant-based living. Moreover, VegFest serves as a platform for advocating social justice, particularly amidst a challenging time for black communities, highlighting the interconnectedness of veganism and community support.

Gigi Jones, the founder of Midwest Soul VegFest, is a true advocate for the power of plant-based living as a form of medicine.
Her personal journey of overcoming colon cancer in 2016 through lifestyle changes that helped her body heal naturally without surgery, a true powerful testament to the belief using food as medicine.
Gigi is dedicated to spreading awareness about the benefits of a healthy vegan lifestyle, especially for children and women wellbeing.
As the author of "The V-Code" cookbook, a certified raw food chef, health educator nutritionist, and owner of Gigi's Vegan and Wellness Cafe', she embodies her motto of "saving lives one plant at a time.
"Additionally, Gigi's commitment extends beyond her cafe', as she has established a nonprofit organization "KC Health Initiative" to support, educate, and provide free plant-based meals to children in urban communities and schools.
Gigi's holistic approach to health and community empowerment is truly inspiring.

Your invitation to become a partner is both compelling and inspiring.
I encourage potential partners to consider joining forces with us in our endeavor to promote health, justice, and kindness in our communities.
