FIRST MIDWEST SOUL VEGFEST 2018

Reflections of the first  VegFest of 2018

During a thunderstorm on Saturday, October 11th VegFest managed to wrangle up scores of vegan vendors and over two 6 speakers.

More poignantly, an estimated 2,000 people entered 2-3 hours later after the worst of the storm and stayed with us including fox 4 news.    We were happy and grateful that we were successful, but even more so that marginalized community represented over 65% of the attendees.

Midwest Soul VegFest came at a time when veganism has begun to burst out of the seams from popular films, athletes and hospitals embracing a plant-based lifestyle.

It's also a time of re-emerging blackness at a scary and complex time for black people.  VegFest is about consciously supporting our communities in every shape and form and using our voices to defend the voiceless animals!

Support Us! Become a partner!

To our potential partners, I know how important a healthy lifestyle is to your business and organization. That's why I am reaching out to invite you to be a sponsor of this year's.

Mid-West Soul Vegfest taking place October 7th from 11AM to 5PM. at Swope Park Pavilion #3

Kansas City, Mo 63130

As the founder of Midwest Soul Vegfest and a cancer survivor, I am living evidence of the healing power of a whole plant-based lifestyle.  It saved my life.

That same diet is also the only diet that has ever been shown in the medical literature to halt and reverse established coronary artery disease – currently our number one killer. It is now my passion to provide others the education and support that made it possible for me to turn my health around.

Our African American community is facing epidemics of obesity, asthma, cancer, violence, and poverty resulting from negative environmental, social, economic and cultural influences.

Our youth are especially at risk as Fast food, food deserts, and overwhelmed parents hinder their ability to make healthy choices. But we have a plan to address these challenges.

We believe that having access to health resources and learning how to eat a clean, organic, plant-based diet will improve the health of the individual and the planet, while also providing the foundation for a longer, more energized lifespan. Working together we want to build a strong health and justice focused community base initiative.

We are expecting over 2000 participants to enjoy our entertainment, educational workshops, plant-based food vendors, and to benefit from information presented by our nationally recognized speakers. Admission will be free and open to everyone.

Will you join us and be a catalyst for healthy change by sponsoring this event? Specifically, we are requesting sponsorship at one of the following levels:

Sun Sponsor level:     $500

Heart Sponsor level:      $1,000

Thank you for partnering with us to create a healthier and kinder world.

This event is held by KC Health Initiative, a non-profit organization that educates and feeds urban core children plant based free meals!
