JoAnn Farb is a former microbiologist in the pharmaceutical industry, who speaks nationally on issues related to health, social justice and free speech and she is the author of two books.
JoAnn's pharma work had her touring farms and labs and brought her face to face with the animals being used to create meat and dairy. JoAnn was also a science educator and a judge in science fairs, where she observed how industry was able to bias the scientific education of students starting at very young ages in ways that prioritized their profits over the health and well-being of communities.
All of this helped make visible the military-industrial-medical-meat-media complex and how it influences what most people believe to be true -- especially with regards to the benefits and risks of widely used medical interventions. If you have struggled to make sense of conflicting health information, especially as it pertains to the last few years, you won't want to miss JoAnn's talk.
